Alligators Gars are not what they seem. They are fish that look like Alligators. These Gars actually hunt alligators! They live in rivers in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama/South East USA.
Instead of scales, they have bony plates. Their strong teeth can break bone and flesh/chop an alligator in half. Gars are 10 ft long. These things only hunt the baby alligators and fish. They existed until the early Cretaceous. These things are stalking, ambush predators. These things can get up to 250-350 pounds! If you have seen one in a picture, THEY ARE HUGE!
Just imagine something 10-15 ft long, and about 1 1/2 ft wide swimming, waiting for food. These are the biggest of 7 species of gar. Gar have 2 front fins, and 2 back fins, with a big tail at the end. They have a big snout with hundreds of VERY sharp teeth. I recommend not fishing for one. These are really cool fish. You should look at some images on google of these fish. Its crazy!
